Clements Equine

Excellent facilities, coupled with a highly experienced team enable us to provide your horse with exceptional care tailored to their individual requirements throughout their time with us. All veterinary work is undertaken by the dedicated stud team of Newmarket’s Rossdales LLP, one of Europe’s leading vet practices and reproductive specialists. In addition to our stud services we also provide boarding for mares and youngstock and have an additional stable yard on site for full livery and rehabilitation services.

We have our own sports horse breeding programme, primarily of show-jumpers.  We are strong believers in the importance of the dam line – all our mares have had highly successful careers in sport themselves or are from well proven mare families, with relatives competing at the highest levels of sport, such as Olympics, World Championships and World Cup finals. Our own stallions, Shannondale Delta, Renkum Radetzky II and Renkum Olinthos are available at stud – each different in type there is something to offer most mares, and they are all producing exciting offspring, with jump, movement and temperament, the eldest of which are now starting to prove themselves in international sport.

Breeding Programme

Our breeding programme began around 15 years ago, with a lovely show jumper who had been very successful, including winning at the Horse of the Year Show.  Since then our breeding operation has gradually grown to include six mares, and two licensed stallions.  It’s very important to us that the mares we use in our breeding programme have performed themselves; our current broodmares include results up to 1.50m at international level.  All our mares have demonstrated jumping ability themselves prior to being used. They all carry exceptional bloodlines, move well and are well put together. We use our own stallions in our breeding programme, and also out-cross to some of the best European bloodlines, both proven performers and also using exciting up and coming stallions.  We choose the stallions we use based on their ability, trainability and type, with of course excellent conformation and athleticism. We always have a selection of quality youngsters with top class bloodlines, bred to excel in show-jumping or eventing. Bloodlines in our current youngstock include:

  • Animo, Boherdeal Clover, Cavalier Royale, Cobretti, Concorde, Cruising, Darco, Hermès D’Authieux, Nimmerdor, Renkum Offendor, Renkum Radetzky, Shannondale Delta, Touchdown, VDL Douglas, Voltaire

Please get in touch and let us know if you’re looking to purchase a youngster. From foals to newly broken four year olds, we would hope to have something to suit.  All of our youngstock are passported with the AES or Breeders Elite studbooks and are microchipped.

Our client comments

I sent my mare to Clements Equine to have AI in spring of last year (2013). It was so nice to deal with a set up which was so professional, and geared around the horse’s best interests. Everything was organised and dealt with by Charlotte and all I had to think about was when to pick her up…although she didn’t want to leave! I have every confidence, and am looking forward to sending her back to have her foal next spring. I cannot imagine a better place, or nicer people she could be with.

The quiet, relaxed atmosphere, happy horses, and well kept paddocks with lots of grass at Manor Farm helped make my mind up to send my mare there to stud. Top quality care in all respects, not just Rossdales superb AI service, meant that my mare came home in foal, very well and happy in mind, body and feet! I would not hesitate in sending a mare there again, even if I were not using one of the lovely stallions. Thank you so very much Charlotte, you are a star!

I am the proud owner of Annie, a 17year old cob who has excelled in everything she has done from showing to side saddle and one day eventing. Following a leg injury I decided to put her in foal. Imagine my disappointmentwhen I was told by a vet that she was too old and too fat to get into foal at all. Regardless, I contacted Pippa Childerhouse with Amour G, and made a very rushed decision to send her to Charlotte Taylor at Clements Equine for AI. I made a call to Charlotte and after speaking to her with my very exacting care regime for Annie, decided that we would give it a try. At all times Charlotte has been most helpful, and kept me informed of Annie’s progress and putting up with my endless calls asking how she was getting on. After the second round of AI, Charlotte was delighted to give me the news that Annie, was in fact, in foal. When I went to collect her I found Charlotte to be very friendly, and was delighted that she had been so well looked after. If all goes well, and I think we could try again sometime, I can think of no better place to send her, they obviously know what they are dong and do it well. Annie has just been scanned and still in foal, so we’re looking forward to next year.
