The Nar Valley Way

Measuring 34 miles long the Nar Valley starts in Kings Lynn and travels through the southern breadth of Castle Acre finishing in Dereham.

King’s Lynn

This vibrant and historical town is just 7 miles away and offers a superb mix of history, shopping and entertainment.  As one of England’s most important ports from as early as the 12th century King’s Lynn has a rich maritime past which is still very much in evidence today. Fine old merchants’ houses stretch down to the river between cobbled lanes and the elegant Custom House overlooks the harbour. The town’s heritage is reflected in an amazing array of historic buildings and at two magnificent market places: Saturday Market Place, where St Margaret’s Church , designated as a Minster Church in 2011 by the Bishop of Norwich, is surrounded by splendid buildings and Tuesday Market Place, quite possibly one of England’s grandest squares.

Oxborough Hall

Built in 1482 by the Catholic Bedingfeld family, it is the enduring legacy of their survival through turbulent times. There are 500 years of history to explore with hidden doors, rooftop views and a secret priest’s hole.

Houghton Hall

Houghton Hall is a country house in the parish of Houghton in Norfolk, England. It is the residence of David Cholmondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley.
