Racehorse Ownership & Syndication

FUN AFFORDABLE RACING

We want Fred Archer Racing partners to enjoy the whole experience of owning a racehorse and, to this end, we try and make it as much fun for all. If you have not owned a racehorse or been part of a syndicate before you can be assured that you will be made welcome and you will find it very exciting.

Owning racehorses by definition is expensive. However, by entering into a racehorse syndicate the owners are able to share the costs, spread the risks and maximise the enjoyment of participating in our wonderful sport. Syndicates can be exhilarating and enjoyable.

What to expect from a racing syndicate

We aim to showcase the best of thoroughbred horse ownership and racing

No syndicate management fees

We do not charge a management fee but each syndicate is charged a set fee for administration.

Fixed Costs

In 2018 we will have eleven horses running for FRED ARCHER RACING. Their purchase price for a 10% share varies between £2500 for LORD GEORGE winner of four races and nearly £58,000 and £12,000 for our new two year old filly EXCELLED.  THE TIN MAN cost £10,200 for a share and is now the winner of seven of his sixteen races including the Gp1 Qipco Champion Sprint and the Gp1 Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot and nearly a million pounds in prize money.  In addition there will be a monthly fixed fee of £360.

Open house - Stable visits

You are welcome to visit your horse(s) during stable hours and see them do their exercise on Newmarket Heath, with prior notice. The last Friday morning of each month will be set aside for Fred Archer Racing where you will be able to meet with other syndicate members.

Be part of the FAR club

In April 2016 we held our first Fred Archer Racing (FAR) Dinner.  The partners had the opportunity to meet and discuss their racehorses among themselves and with their trainer James Fanshawe as well as other senior staff from Pegasus Stables.

Racehorse ownership

Each shareholder is entitled to one owners badge when their horse runs and we do our best to accommodate for extra badges if needed.

Keeping in touch

You will get regular updates via email and Jacko Fanshawe, who runs FAR, is always available to talk to you on the telephone.

Trained at the home of horse racing

The horses are all trained on Newmarket Heath and will do their faster work on the world renowned gallops on either the Limekilns or Racecourse Side.

Well managed

Each partnership has its own distinct name, e.g. Fred Archer – Ormond. We choose names of successful horses ridden by the great Fred Archer.  Each one has its own bank account with Weatherby’s and any surplus money from monthly charges, prize money or sales of the horse will be shared equally at the end  of the partnership
