GREENALL’S TOAST THE JOCKEY CLUB

The Jockey Club, the largest commercial group in British horse racing, has signed a sponsorship deal with gin brand Greenall’s.

The deal includes pouring rights at the Jockey Club’s 15 racecourses, the likes of Cheltenham, Aintree and Epsom included, as well as a host of marketing rights.

The deal begins immediately and will last for three years.

Greenall’s, which is known as the manufacturer of Greenall’s The Original London Dry Gin and is owned by Quintessential Brands, has become the official gin of the Jockey Club, which organises 340 racing events per year.

According to a release announcing the deal, Quintessential Brands will spend around UK£3 million activating the sponsorship over the next three years, though no indication of a rights fee was given.

“We are a sport with scale and a desire to work with like-minded partners like Quintessential Brands and its Greenall’s Gin to achieve mutual success and growth. In this regard we look forward to unveiling further official partners to join Greenall’s Gin in other important rights categories in due course,” said Jockey Club group chief executive Simon Bazalgette.
