Captivated by horse racing from a young age, my passion for the sport set the stage for a career dedicated to training racehorses. After leaving school and spending some time working in London, I decided to pursue a lifelong ambition and entered the horse racing industry eight years ago.
My first role was with Brian Meehan as Pupil Assistant at the world-renowned Manton stables. Here I undertook a one-year apprenticeship, initially devised for graduates of the Irish National Stud. The program included extensive work placements covering all aspects of racing including the British Horseracing Association, racecourses, experts in equine behaviour, bloodstock agents, racing public relations and equine veterinary practices.
Seeking to broaden my knowledge, I ventured to Australia, joining Ciaron Maher and David Eustace at one of the world’s largest and most successful training operations. As a Barn Manager responsible for 40 horses at the team’s Caulfield operations in Melbourne, I oversaw the care of multiple Group 1 winners Loving Gaby and Kenedna.
After two insightful years in Australia, I returned to England and have spent the past five years as Assistant Trainer to Ed Dunlop, renowned for training multiple classic winners, including the champions Snow Fairy and Ouija Board. During this period, the yard achieved notable successes including its second highest tally of winners in 2023 with 71 wins. Working closely with Ed, I gained invaluable experience into all aspects of managing a successful training yard.
Now, I am excited to embark on a new chapter, launching my own training career in 2024. I look forward to sharing with you my journey as I join the training ranks and hope to have your support along the way.
I have managed to secure premises at Red House Stables, at the home of racing in Newmarket. I am very excited to be training here as you have access to a wide range of expertly kept facilities on your door step to suit every horse’s needs.
I plan on being present and active at all upcoming sales and look forward to building successful and profitable relationships for the future. Red House Stables will have an open door policy, providing first class communication and feedback. I believe we will offer an enjoyable and exciting experience for all at every level.
At Jack Morland Racing we look to encourage racehorse ownership to suit all budgets. For those who do not wish to own their own horse directly, we have designed two syndicate options that offer the experience of racehorse ownership and participation at a more affordable cost.
Please join us at Maxwell Thoroughbreds and be part of a dynamic and passionate community, enjoying the thrill of racehorse ownership together with the professional management of your investment.
