ANNABELLE’S CHOCOLATE STICKS

Kids’ snack that feels like a treat for them but isn’t all that bad!

Ok, so this may not technically be very healthy but I am forever trying to come up with snacks for my two that aren’t going to send their blood sugar levels rocketing. Once you have made these you will be disappointed by the amount of chocolate that doesn’t end up on the breadstick so it’s a treat for them and a trick for me…win win!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bar of milk chocolate. You can use white chocolate if you prefer but it isn’t as thick as the milk chocolate.
  • Sprinkles or toppings of your choice. I bought a small tub with a mixture of different sized sprinkles.
  • Breadsticks, long ones that you can snap in half.

METHODS

  1. Place a sheet of kitchen foil or parchment paper on a tray ready to place breadsticks on once made.
  2. Break breadsticks in half and lay them out ready for little hands to pick up.
  3. Break chocolate into squares and melt in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir, then redo in 10 second increments until liquid.
  4. Pour chocolate into a thin, tall vessel. This is so you can cover as much of the breadstick when you dip it into the chocolate.
  5. Once dipped, hold above vessel so chocolate drips off. Remove excess chocolate from tip of breadstick then dip into sprinkles of choice.
  6. Immediately, place breadstick down onto foil.
  7. Once all the chocolate or breadsticks have been used or you have enough to last a while, place tray into fridge to set.
  8. Once they have set, they can be kept in a tub and reached into whenever you wish.
