Bill, director, graduated in 1993 from Glasgow University and has worked in East Anglia ever since. He has a special interest in internal medicine and gained the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2002. Bill is married to primary teacher Hannah, and is kept busy at home by his two sons Noah and Joseph. The whole family are fitness fanatics and are off running and bike riding most weekends!
Poppy graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2004 and has worked in Suffolk her whole career. She enjoys all areas of medicine and surgery and has a special interest in working dogs. She is also trained in veterinary acupuncture. Poppy is married to equine vet Mark and has 2 sons Archie and Ollie, two labradors, two cats and 3 horses. When not at work, she can usually be found exercising various animals & children around the countryside, occasionally escaping it all and skiing or sailing as well!
Maryrose graduated from Edinburgh University in 2006, and has lived and worked in the Newmarket area ever since. She joined Ash Tree in 2012 and enjoys all aspects of companion animal medicine and surgery. She is married to local graphics designer Simon and has 3 children, Mollie, Toby and Sophie, and our two dogs. At home Rose is a keen baker and a runner as well as a enjoying some skiing when she gets the chance.
Tess graduated from Bristol University in 2006, moved to Newmarket in 2008 and joined Ash Tree vets in 2012. Tessa enjoys all aspect of companion animal medicine, with a special interest in caring for our feline patients. She is married to Newmarket based racehorse vet Tristan, has 3 children Lottie, Harry and Wilbur as well as 2 cats and 4 chickens! When not at work Tess enjoys cooking, gardening and dressmaking (when she gets a chance)!
Georgina grew up in rural Yorkshire and a love for all animals drove her to study at the Royal Veterinary College, graduating in 2013 and joingin us at Ash Tree Vets in 2015. In her spare time Gerogina loves nothing more than a long dog walk with Gordon Setter Fergus and partner Richard or jogging and the occasional horse ride, albeit not that well (her own words)! She is a keen skier and loves trying new sports and adventures.
Amy, has lived in Suffolk all her life and began her career in veterinary nursing in 2005. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2007 and was part of the original Ash Tree team in 2011. Amy has a passion for all aspects of her job, and heads our fantastic team of nurses. Outside of work Amy can be found riding her horses, attempting DIY at home with finance Warren, walking her Border Terrier, and hanging out with Marmaduke, a stray cat handed in at Ash Tree Vets!
Abbey grew up in Suffolk, surrounded by pets and qualified alongside Amy as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2007. She was one of our original team members helping us open the practice in 2011. Abbey has a particular passion for kennel nursing, theatre work and rehabilitation, making our inpatient beds fit for a king! She is married to painter Robert and they live with their three sons as well as labrador Nelly and a ginger cat, Sid! In her spare time Abbey loves playing netball and riding her pony, Jacka, whom she has owned for over 20 years.
Jess gained her degree in veterinary nursing in 2011. Shortly after qualifying she moved to Hong Kong with husband Andrew and worked in a small animal and exotic hospital. During this time Jess studied for a Certificate in Nursing Exotic Species. She returned to the UK in late 2012 and joined Ash tree Vets shortly afterwards. In her spare time enjoys spending time with her son, her 2 rescue cats from Hong Kong and her tortoise!
Laura is a qualified veterinary nurse and is currently studying for a Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management. Laura joined the practice in 2014. As well as routine nursing duties Laura offers behaviour clinics and advise and is always on hand for our questions. Laura has two dogs Maple, the beautiful black Labrador, and Boomer, the cheeky miniature Dachshund.
Karen began her career in veterinary nursing 2006, having moved over from the banking sector! After a previous Head Nurse role in her previous veterinary practice, Karen wanted to get back to the hands on side of nursing, and so moved to join us at Ash Tree Vets in 2016. She lives with husband, Nigel, and a menagerie of animals, including an Australian Cattle Dog, three Border Terriers, three Tortoises, two Corn Snakes and a Bearded Dragon!
Kerry qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2016 from Anglia Ruskin University and the College of West Anglia. and joined us straight away. She lives with boyfriend Daniel and has a menagerie of animals including a lovely Lhasa apso called Finley, a Bearded Dragon called Yoshi, two Crested Geckos called Freddy and Fly and a Tortoise called Terry.
Rachel smoothly runs our “front of house”. Following a career in the police force she has worked in veterinary practice for over 20 years. Rachel joined our team soon after we opened in 2011 and travels over 100 miles every day with ex racing greyhound Dennis to do the job that she loves! At home alongside partner Simon and several ex-battery hens Rachel volunteer for the British Hen Welfare Trust running rehoming days for thousands of hens every year. She is a constant source of knowledge for “all things chicken”!
Cori joined our front of house team in 2017 having been a client here for many years. Cori lives with her boyfriend (and police man!) George with a rather large Goldendoodle called Bear and two rabbits called Pebbles and Reggie.
